Nancy Gant was born and raised in South Dakota in the town of Geddes, population 350 then and 350 now. Most of her family still lives there and she visits frequently. Time stands still for the most part. The Missouri River runs close by and is a major playground. She loves the flatness of the open plains and the River affords some rolling hills for added affect. She moved to Grand Junction in 2001 and to Glenwood Springs two years ago to manage Guest Operations at the Historic Hotel Colorado. She feels at home now nestled in the Rockies.
Nancy graduated from Southwest Academy of Natural Therapies in Grand Junction in 2004 and has been patiently waiting for the perfect opportunity to present itself. And that it did. She was a patient of Dr. Dave and immediately asked if the Wellness Center was hiring massage therapists. She gave her two week notice and was on board as a CMT in September of 2006 and is loving every minute of it. Nancy’s focus is Swedish Massage, Energy work, Reiki, and aromatherapy.
In all of her spare time, Nancy is dedicated to volunteering throughout the community. She volunteers at Valley View Hospital as a massage therapist; she is a Hospice volunteer doing massage and bereavement counseling; she is a volunteer Forest Ranger monitoring hiking trails from Glenwood to Aspen; and she was recently selected to be on the Board of Directors for the Glenwood Springs Art Center. Nancy is currently studying to become a personal trainer in weight lifting.
Nancy’s work experience has been very diverse. She ran a farming and milking operation, built computers, and of course, the hospitality business. Nancy has always set priorities for her health and that of others. She plans to continue in the Health industry until she retires at 80 and only then if she absolutely has to. The Valley Wellness Center is a perfect fit for Nancy because the healthy focus is community and family. Nancy is happy to visit with you any time you can stop by and say “Hello”.
